They seem so similar...

Shoppers with a sharp eye may notice while browsing ECCO sandals that there is a very popular, lightweight yet rugged, and supportive sandal called the ECCO Yucatan Sandal that is made for both men and women. As the sandal shopping continues the the keen eyed shopper is likely to notice that there is a seemingly identical style called the ECCO Offroad sandal. The attentive shopper may even see a style named the Ecco Offroad Yucatan sandal. So, the sharp eyed shopper may ask, what's the difference?
The Ecco Yucatan and Offroad Sandals have been some of the very best-selling sandals that we have carried at our Stout's Footwear shoe stores and on ShoeStores.com since the styles were brought to the USA from it's original European marketplace in the early 2000's (around 2004).
The sandals had already been available and popular in the European marketplace for awhile before it became time to bring the style to the the United States. Prior to making the sandal available in the USA, the European marketing 'whizzes' at ECCO decided that the the supportive sandals needed a catchy new name for the North American launch of their popular sandal.
The Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico evokes thoughts of a jungle landscape with rugged trails, ancient ruins, and sandy beaches. This idyllic landscape perfectly pairs with the water-friendly, trail-ready ECCO Offroad sandal. Therefore, the name was selected and the style launched for the American market and quickly became a best-seller. Unfortunately, confusion with the name persists as the style in some classic colors and leathers is still listed as the Yucatan while most colorways are listed as the Offroad sandal or Offroad Yucatan sandal.
Rest assured that if you do purchase any of these syles it will be the trusty sandal that you expect. There is no difference in the footbed, fit, or design between the models.
